Mr Kama Karim holds a BEng in Chemical Engineering from University of Strathclyde and a Masters of Industrial Safety Management
from National University of Malaysia. He is currently pursuing a MBA from theUniversity ofEast London.

He has been working in the HSE field for over ten years, focusing on upstream oil and gas operations. The last four years has been spent working on the HSE aspects of exploration and development projects in SE Asia, specializing in integrated offshore installations.

Of particular interest is the development of a Barrier Management System to prevent major accident hazards.

He has extensive knowledge of the regulatory regime in Malaysia and has a good understanding of industrial standards and best practices.

Kama has spoken at several local conferences and is interested in how Risk Management practices and the ALARP Concept are evolving
globally and their application to petroleum exploration and production.
