North of Scotland Branch

Seminar: Technical Safety Fundamentals, 12th June 2008

The North of Scotland Branch of the Safety and Reliability Society will be hosting an all day Technical Safety Seminar in Aberdeen, on Thursday 12th June 2008at the Marcliffe at Pitfodels.  The aim of the Seminar is to provide appropriate Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for Technical Safety Engineers working in the oil and gas industry.

As SaRS offers a route to Chartered Engineering Status, the Seminar is structured to provide CPD to those already Chartered and to assist those working their way towards Chartered Status.  The Seminar will also provide a means for non-Technical Safety Engineers to develop an awareness of legislation and safety issues relevant to the oil and gas industry.

The evening included two very interesting presentations from Martin Goose on the Buncefield accident in 2006 and from Mike Broadribb on the BP Texas City explosion in 2005.
