Events Organised by the Society
Each year the Society organises events in different locations throughout the UK. These events are open to members of the Society and non-members of the Society and are typically cross-industry and broad based in focus.
Events in London
ALARP and Timeframe
The Society will hold an ALARP workshop in Autumn 2009 focusing on ALARP and timeframes. This topical seminar will be held at RINA. Please contact the office if you wish to present a paper or seminar at this workshop.
Events in Manchester
Reliability Seminar
A Reliability Seminar will be held in Manchester on 15th July 2009. Please contact the office if you would be interested in presenting at this event, or you would like to book a place.
SARS09 in conjunction with The IET 4th Annual Conference on Systems Safety
This year the SARS09 conference will be held in London in conjunction with the 4th international IET System Safety Conference.The theme of SARS09 is:
"It's not just wires".
Paper will be presented in the following subject areas:
System Dependenability include design optioneering and tradeoffsMajor hazards e.g. Fire, Flooding etc.Safety and Dependenability of major installations, e.g. power plants, oil & gas installations, major civil infrastructuresCompetency and licening

Technical Safety and Reliability Seminar
Joint Technical Day with The Royal Institute of Naval Architects will be held at RINA in 2010. SaRS will join with RINA to bring together a group of professionals to speak on this important theme. Please email the office to register interest.

SaRS Competency Conference
Solutions to the Reliability and Safety Engineering Shortfall (follow up seminar). The Society will hold an outcome and progress seminar on the subject of the skills gap in 2009.
Events in Aberdeen
Technical Safety Seminars
The North of Scotland Branch of the Safety and Reliability Society will be hosting all day Technical Safety Seminars in Aberdeen at regular intervals. The aim of the Seminars is to provide appropriate Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for Technical Safety Engineers working in the oil and gas industry. Following two successful CPD events in 2008, there will be an announcement of further seminars in 2009.
North of Scotland Dinner
The North of Scotland Branch of the Society host a dinner each year during May in Aberdeen.
