Reliability Performance Analysis
Organised by the Safety and Reliability Group of the Institution of the Mechanical Engineers
4 November 2008
IMechE HQ, London

Products designed for today’s market and the processes used to develop them must be reliable and effective in operation. Historically new technologies need decades to evolve and become ‘reliable’, but today, due to time and cost, engineers are required to forecast the ‘’expected reliability’’ of a product with only limited available data.
This ‘’expected reliability’’ however is not an exact science, and needs engineering judgment to be applied correctly.
This one-day seminar will look at the issues this forecasting brings up as well as demonstrate the methods of analysis that can be used. Speakers will present case histories of their products, enabling engineers to learn of the problems encountered, their solution and the outcome of the decisions made.

Challenges for our Ageing Asset Base – Ensuring Safety, Reliability and Operability
Organised by the Safety and Reliability Group of the Institution of the Mechanical Engineers
14 October 2008
IMechE HQ, London
Please mention SaRS when booking to receive the IMechE member rate!
Asset life strategies are essential to support your business objectives. Reliability, integrity and operability cannot be compromised.
Facilities constructed over the last 20 to 30 years need to remain competitive, as many are now required to run beyond the original design life. This seminar will demonstrate the financial benefits of good safety, reliability and forward planning in maintenance of production facilities including: utility plants, energy producers, water suppliers, process chemical, oil and gas facilities.
The event will also discuss the implications of not sustaining investment on information systems, energy cost and environmental damage, and the consequences for impairing integrity of maintenance.
