Standards news:

A European Defence Agency (EDA) Review Workshop is scheduled to take place on 15-Sep-11 at the CEN Management Centre in Brussels, where a review on the progress in taking recommendations from a “Study into the Role of European Industry in the Development and Application of Standards”, which was delivered to the EDA in 2009 following a couple of previous workshops with government and industry experts, is due to take place. The following standards were published on 30 June 2010:

• BS EN 31010:2010 Risk management – Risk assessment techniques (UK implementation of EN 31010:2010 it is identical to IEC/ISO 31010:2009)
• BS EN 61508 (Various Parts):2010 Functional safety of electrical/electronic/programmable electronic safety-related systems (Supersede BS EN 61508 (Various Parts):2002 which are withdrawn).
• BS5760 Part 18 on the Dependability Case was issued at the end of May 2010.

Consultations:

The Society is interested in providing a forum for discussion about current issues in Safety and Reliability. This part of the site aims to provide a range of consultation and reference documents to stimulate ongoing interest.
