We’re excited to let you know about an upcoming presentation opportunity for early career professionals who would like to enhance their CV and have a chance to win a prize.

Hosted by Mott MacDonald at their offices at 10 Fleet Place, London, EC4M 7RB
Prizes sponsored by Virkonnen Ltd

Are you an enthusiastic early career safety or reliability professional who would like the chance to present your work and win a prize?

We are delighted to announce that on 18th March 2025, the London Branch of the Safety and Reliability Society (SaRS) is holding its annual presentation event to showcase some of the newer talent in the Safety & Reliability industries.

If you (or someone you know) has less than 10 years’ experience in the safety and reliability sector and have been working on an interesting project that you would like to share, please get in touch!  All you need to do is email Colin Dennis at londonbranch@sars.org.uk with a short abstract on the proposed topic and a copy of your CV by Sunday 11th January 2025.

Please note that this opportunity is open to everyone – not just SaRS members.

The three best topics, selected by the SaRS London Branch Committee, will be given 15 minutes to present at this in-person meeting and online webinar event and each presentation will be followed by a short Q&A session with questions asked by the audience.

The abstract (max 300 words) should outline:

  • The problem or challenge addressed
  • The approach or solution proposed
  • The relevance to safety and/or reliability
  • Any interdisciplinary elements (e.g., use of AI, data science, human factors, etc.)
  • Your role in the project/activity

Virkonnen Ltd have kindly agreed to sponsor the prizes for this event, so after all three presentations and Q&A sessions, the best presentation – as chosen by an independent panel – will be presented with a £100 prize. The two other presenters won’t go home empty-handed though; they will each receive a £25 prize for their efforts.

This will be an in-person event kindly hosted by Mott MacDonald at their offices in London, which will also be broadcast as a live webinar. There will also be a post-meeting networking/social drinks reception.

If you are not submitting an abstract for consideration, then please save the date as it’s always a thoroughly interesting event and good opportunity to come along and support our early careers professionals. We will let you know when the registrations for the in-person meeting and online webinar are available.
