2026 AGM NOTICE AND AGENDA

The Annual General Meeting of the Midlands Branch will be held at:

6-30pm on Monday 15 June 2026 via Zoom

The meeting is open to SaRS members only. PLEASE CLICK HERE TO REGISTER FOR THE EVENT. Once registered, you will be sent an online meeting invitation and a link to the papers for the AGM just prior to the meeting.

The AGM enables the committee to report on the Branch activities over the last year, and provides an opportunity for members to become involved with the direction and development of the Branch in the coming year.

The Branch officer positions of Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer are not due for election this year.

Members are however invited to join the committee as ordinary committee members.

Nominations should be sent by email in advance of the meeting to sarsmidlands@sars.org.uk although nominations can also be made at the meeting.

Candidates, proposers and seconders must belong to one of the Safety and Reliability Society classes of membership, namely Fellow, Member, Associate Member, Associate or Student.

About the Branch

The SaRS Midlands Branch covers the major cities and towns of the East and West Midlands including Birmingham, Coventry, Leicester, Nottingham, Loughborough, Solihull and the surrounding areas.

In common with the other SaRS branches, the Midlands branch members are drawn from a wide range of industries and businesses, universities and other organisations and their specialist interests include energy, railways, automotive, chemicals and the utilities.

Each year the branch organises a number of evening lectures, on various Safety and Reliability themes. These events are free to attend and open to both SaRS members and non-members.

Recent talks organised by the Branch have included various safety and reliability themes and topics:

  • Gas industry engineering and management
  • Railway infrastructure asset management
  • CO2Pipeline risk management
  • Technical competence for safety and reliability professionals
  • Marine safety
  • Automotive standards and risks
  • Key Performance Indicators

All Branch meetings start at 18.30 (refreshments will be available from 18.00).
