SaRS is delighted to appoint Phil Lang as Chair Elect for 2024.

Phil started his journey into Engineering at joining Transco as an Operative training up to a Mains Layer Craftsman, where he learned and developed his passion for Safety. Phil moved on to United Utilities where he works as a Project Engineer, Mitigation Technician, Asset Integration Engineer and in his current role Asset Supportability Engineer.

Phil told us:

‘It is a privilege and an honour to represent SaRS and I thank all in SaRS for their support, I hope I can bring all my knowledge, expertise and drive to SaRS to help make SaRS a better place for all members. As somebody who only recently became Chartered, I would like to help support others to make it easier to understand the processes, procedures and what support is out there for them. This is something that SaRS was very good with to me, however, hopefully I can implement my learnings to help future Engineers. I also want to help shape the website to help fellow users navigate and find the website far more accessible to ensure any information needed is easily at hand. I want to support the Webinar programme to try to get the best and most interesting Webinars out to people from all Safety and Reliability backgrounds. Finally I want to help reinvigorate the UK North West Branch of SaRS, being from the North West myself and seeing some of the SaRS affiliates within this area I believe this is very important to ensure the North West Branch becomes far more active within SaRS. I am looking forward to working with Jacqui, the SaRS Trustee and Directors Board, SaRS Council and all other members.’

We look forward to working with Phil as he continues his journey with SaRS.
