Phil Lang joined SaRS Council in June 2023. We asked Phil about his background and he told us:

‘I first started my journey into Engineering at 18 where I joined Transco as an Operative training up to a Mains layer Craftsman, this is where I learned and developed my passion for Safety as being on the tools you see and experience so many bad practices first-hand.

I then moved on to United Utilities where I worked as a Project Engineer, Mitigation Technician, Asset Integration Engineer and my current role Asset Supportability Engineer.  My current role has enabled me to learn about the principles of Reliability using tools like T-RAM, CIL, Spares Strategies, FMECA, RCM analysis to name a few.

In my personal life I am a husband and a father to one daughter who takes up most of my spare time, however, I do enjoy walking my dog, sports, films and I train in Taekwondo.’
